ECULLY - Olivier Carreaux has won the second and last national tournament in 71/2 played in Ecully. Therefore he qualified for the finals. Careaux was missing in the first national tournament. In Ecully he defeated Nicolas Gérassimopoulos in the final 200-55 in ten innings and a highest run of 111.

The winner of the European Grand Prix in Prague had the best score this weekend, except Willy Gérimont's highest run of 167. Careaux had by far the best average with 31.25 and a best match of 100.00 average (two innings).

The chmpion successively defeated Fabio Vendittelli in four innings, Eric Castaner in 9, Johann Petit in two and Willy Gérimont in the semifinals in seven innings. With his 120 ranking points, Careaux climbes to second place in the ranking behind Bernard Villiers.

Nicolas Gérassimopoulos (best match 66.67 average) is in tht top five of the ranking now. He defeated Bernard Villiers, the number one, in the semifinals 200-189 in ten innings.
