Kostas Papakonstantinou won the final against Filippos Kasidokostas

ATHENS - The Greek player Kostas Papakonstantinou was victorious at the Open Academy tournament in Athens in a final match against Filippos Kasidokostas. The decision came in the shootouts after a 40-40 score in 26 innings. The penalty series ended two times in a draw, in the third was Papakonstantinou the winner.

He broke the winning streak of two recent tournament winner Filippos Kasidokostas, who took the victory in Trisponto club and in Thessaloniki.

In the semi-finals Papakonstantinou got the better of Nikos Polychronopoulos 40-37 in 29. Kasidokostas defeated Kostas Kokoris 40-33 in 30.

Dionisis Tskokantas and Kostas Papakonstantinou recorded the highest run (12), Kostas Kokoris played the best match: 2.222.

The Open Academy was played with a total of 112 participants in the thirty-year-old Academy of Billiards, a thousand meters from Omoneia Square in the center of Athens. The club was opened by Vaggelis Artinopoulos for his two sons thirty years ago.
