Patrick Niessen shows his joy after taking his first title in free game

BLANKENBERGE - The Belgian balk-line specialist Patrick Niessen has conquered the first two titles in the classical disciplines. At the Belgian Multi championship, Niessen won the first two finals this Friday: in the 47/2 against Eddy Leppens 300-97 in 2 innings (run 193) and in the free game against Maarten Janssen 400-4 in 1 inning. The double title winner comes into action in another final, the 71/2 against Leppens.

The title in the free game passed the player who was superior in the pre-rounds. Maarten Janssen finished in the group of four with the maximum match points and 240.00 of average. He defeated Patrick Niessen, who finished second with 89.44 average. But things turned around in the decisive match. In that final Janssen started with four and Niessens finished from the spots with 400. That was good enough for the title. Robby Sonck claimed third place by defeating Philippe Deraes 400-109 in 9 innings.

Patrick Niessen remained unbeaten in the preliminaries of 47/2, in which he finished ahead of Leppens, Janssen and Devos. In the final between Niessen and Leppens, the match ended in 300-97 in two innings with a best run of 193 for Niessen.
