HAARLO - The Dutch team of Etikon is the leader again in the top team league for classic games. The Haarlo team, with Patrick Niessen as big hitter in balk-line 71/2 and Jean Paul de Bruijn in a leading role in one cushion, played a double round: against Wellse Vaert on Friday and against Biljartkeu.nl for the seventh round on Saturday.

Both meetings were won by the maximum match points, 6-0 and 4-2 against Wellse Vaert, twice 6-0 vs Biljartkeu.
A1 Biljarts/De Veemarkt made a half misstep in the seventh round. BIOS/Blitz Optics, second last in the ranking, defeated the team of Willem Siebelink once 4-2, A1 won the other meeting. A1 has now played two matches less than Etikon and is three points behind on the ranking.

Dinand Prinsen's Etikon starred with some excellent performances this weekend, first against Wellse Vaert and one day later against Biljartkeu.nl, the number three on the rank.

The most notable player in those two matches was Patrick Niessen. The Belgian, who showed a great form in the days before the Belgian championships in all disciplines, defeated Ian van Krieken in the first match in one inning (150-10).

In his second match he finished with a draw in 71/2 in eight innings, but on Saturday the Belgian showed himself untouchable against the young Gert-Jan Veldhuizen. Niessen won the two matches in two innings, the first including a run of 147. Veldhuizen finished on 107 caroms. In the second match Niessen won 150-38.
left his opponent on 38.

Henri Tilleman won the 47/2 on Friday, the first match fairly simple vs Peter de Bree with 200-74 in four innings. In the second game, his ‘Zeeuwse' opponent ran a 141 to reach the finish. Tilleman could draw the match in five innings. On Saturday, Tilleman couldn't be threatened by Dennis Timmers. The 'Drontenaar' won the first game in two innings 200-6 with a final run of 165, in the second, he closed the match in one inning: 200-14.

The only player with the maximum points over two days was Jean-Paul de Bruijn, first with two wins against Roy van Raay, on Saturday against Rene Luijsterburg. De Bruijn won his first match in one cushion 100-62 in seven and 100-89 in eleven innings. On Saturday the opposition was minimal. De Bruijn won in six innings 100-39 and in four innings 100-7.

Dibo the City strengthened its position on third place by two wins over De Graafschap (twice 4-2). Biljartcentrum Arnhem defeated Wellse Vaert twice 4-2. Michel van Silfhout remained unbeaten for A1 Biljarts in his matches against Erik van der Linden in the 71/2: 150-38 and 150-47 in five and two innings with a superb run of 101.

Raymund Swertz lost his first match against Christian Poether (200-60 in 12) and then took revenge in his second 200-112 in four innings (143 run). Ludger Havlik had a poor weekend with two losses against Peter Volleberg: 100-95 and 100-27 in 23 and 9.

Peter de Bree coloured his weekend with two victories in Arnhem against Martijn Egbers (200-37 in 2 and 200-100 in 4). He took the only two victories for Wellse Vaert in a match in which Marek Faus was the great luminary for Arnhem. The Czech won the 71/2 against Ian van Krieken in three innings (150-56) and in one inning (150-0). Markus Dömer took the full profit with two victories against Roy van Raay (100-34 and 100-86 in 17 in 14).

Jos Bongers notched the full points in his matches for Dibo the City against Ricardo Goud, which he left far behind in one cushion 100-31 in 3 and 100-41 in 7. Micha van Bochem was defeated one time in the 47/2 by Demi Pattiruhu, but won the second game in only one inning 200-17 vs Guido Kauffeld.
