The championship in three cushion has lost last night one of his favorites for a high ranking. Peter Ceulemans was, for the eyes of the master (grandpa Raymond) bumped from the tournament by an excellent playing Ronny Brants: 15-6 (9), 15-6 (1911), 12-15 (1913), 12-15 (11), 15-6 (9).
The young Ceulemans felt from the breakshot no form, no feeling and struggled almost the entire match with difficult positions. His opponent Ronny Brants, who came easily along Ronny Daniels in de preliminary, showed himself very eagerly and took the adventage by winning the first sets.
The match still seemed to turn, because without playing great billiard Ceulemans came back to 2-2, but in the decisive fifth set Brants crowned himself as the winner. In the next round he will find Eddy Leppens on his way.
