BLANKENBERGE - The wonderful run of 171 made an end to a beautiful match. Philippe Deraes shined in his balk line match 71/2 this morning against Peter de Backer. He finished the performance in a great style. The modest, often quite slowly playing Belgian, revenged with his win for the start in this discipline. In his first match he lost to Eddy Leppens with 214 points in ten innings.
Peter de Backer could only watch from his chair the great structured run of Deraes in the discipline in which he didn't win a Belgian title so far. Deraes won already six times the Belgian championship free game and three times 47/2 in his career.
In the 71/2 Caudron is undefeated with a high average. He defeated Patrick Niessen in three with a run of 116 and Eddy Leppens in five innings with a run of 114.
Deraes however has since this morning the highest run in this discipline and the best match. He won the match against De Backer in only four innings.
