Pierre Soumagne showed his high class in the quarters

SAINT-MAUR-DES-FOSSES The French championship three cushion, part of the multi championships held in Saint-Maur-des-Fosses, turns out in a battle between Jérémy Bury, Pierre Soumagne, Jérôme Barbeillon and Jean-Christophe Roux. The four players qualified for the semifinals this morning.

Francis Connesson, group winner in the preliminaries, was eliminated by Barbeillon and also Cédric Melnytschenko, Jean Reverchon and Xavier Le Roy did not manage to reach the semi-finals.

Jérémy Bury played an excellent first round with 2.040 average. The French top player qualified as the best for the quarters, ahead of Francis Connesson (1.282), Cedric Melnytschenko (1.265), Jean Christophe Roux (1.213), Jean Reverchon (1.203), Pierre Soumagne (1.203), Jérôme Barbeillon (1.137) and Xavier Le Roy (1.073).

Pierre Soumagne impressed in the quarterfinals with a stunning victory against Melnytschenko (50-21 in 27, run of ten). The young Frenchman of Laxou averaged 1.851, the highest of the eight players.

Jérôme Barbeillon defeated Connesson 50-24 in 33 (1.515), Jérémy Bury got the better of Xavier Le Roy (50-28 in 36, 1.388) and Jean Christophe Roux had a narrow escape against Jean Reverchon (50-45 in 37, 1.351).
