Murat Naci Coklu, with his team to the winter title, played the best match in 14 innings with a run of 13.

RAVENSBURG - Two Turkish stars and two Germans, playing for Ravensburger BC, were crowned as the winter champion today in the bundesliga. The team triumphed in the away match against Sterkrade 6-2 and keeps the main competition three and five points behind. Bergisch Gladbacher is after the weekend double the number two in the ranking, BCC Witten the number three.

The two pursuers faced each other today and played a draw, 4-4. Jacob Haeck Sörensen (Witten) was the best winner: he defeated Martin Horn 40-19 in 15 innings. Nikos Polychronopoulos played his second consecutive top match of the weekend and defeated Eddy Leppens 40-14 in 19 innings. Ronny Lindemann won another two matchpoints for Witten by a win against Dave Christiani (40-24 in 26), Markus Dömer defeated Volker Baten 40-29 in 43.

The winter champion Ravensburger BC emanates from another Ravensburg club two years ago: the carom billiard club BC Weingarten. The ambitious chairman contracted Tayfun Tasdemir and Murat Naci Coklu this year to battle for the title. The Turks have performed excellently together with Klaus Bosel and Murat Gokman in the first half of the league. Tayfun Tasdemir defeated Thomas Broux on the second day of the weekend 40-33 in 28 innings. Murat Naci Coklu played the best match of the day and won 40-13 in 14 against Ramazan Durdu with a run of thirteen.

BSV Velbert, on the last positions in the ranking with BSV Munich, faced Elversberg with its best man, Frédéric Caudron. The Belgian played in France on Saturday and showed up for his second match day on Sunday. He was a way too strong for Henk Habraken 40-16 in 18 innings. Caudron obviously was an inspiration to his team: Elversberg won 8-0. Michael Nilsson bested Torsten Anders 40-23 in 23.

Frédéric Caudron is focussed on the table when Henk Habraken goes for a shot.

Dick Jaspers, with Caudron both in the Netherlands and Belgium playing for AEJ, won with Magdeburg, the leader in the second bundesliga: 8-0. Jaspers himself won 40 in 16 innings with a run of sixteen.
