Roland Forthomme again the best in Superprestige

Three great victories on a row on the final days of the Superprestige in Lommel crowned Roland Forthomme as the winner of the tournament. For the 39 year old Belgium it was his second win in two years. Last year he beat Frédéric Caudron in the final, now he was the strongest in the last battle against Peter de Backer: 40-32 in 28 innings (averages 1.482-1.142).
There is no doubt about: Roland Forthomme was superior in the quarter final, the semi final and today in the final of the Superprestige. He beat Eddy Merckx in nineteen innings, surprised Frédéric Caudron in the semis in twenty innings and gave Peter de Backer no chance in the final match.
"I was a little bit tired after such a tough tournament'', Forthomme said after his win. But I never gave up and had the good shape to win.''
Peter de Backer was an outstanding finalist in this tournament. He beat Martin Spoormans with penalties in the quarter final and in the same way he obstructed Francis Forton reachting the final.
