The final four in the African championship won by Sameh Sidhom

CAÏRO - The 31-year-old Sameh Sidhom has conquered his second African title in Cairo. In a tournament with sixteen players from five different countries, played in the Armor House hotel, Sidhom was the strongest with 1.610 general average. The Egyptian, the number ten on the world ranking, beat 27-year-old Mohamed Abdin in the final 40-22 in 24 innings. The pre-rounds were played in four groups of four.

In the last eight, who played knock-out, were eight Egyptians. Only South African Peter Francisco was close to reach the last eight. Also players from Morocco, Libya and Algeria, were sent to the African championship, which was played in four days.

The four finalists were Sameh Sidhom, Mohamed Abdin, Ahmed Abdallah and Ihab El Messery. Sidhom remains with his victory the number ten on the world ranking with 220 points.
