Scandinavian's biggest: Nordic championship

COPENHAGEN - The Danish Billard Federation and Nordic Billard Council are hosting the Nordic three cushion championship in Copenhagen from the 6th to the 9th of October. The tournament, organized for the second year, is the biggest three cushion event in Scandinavia. The championship is to be played in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the venueplace Grøndal Multicenter, billardclub KBK/BNV. 32 participants from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, will battle for four days who is to become Nordic Champion 2016.

 
Brian Zola Hansen from Denmark is the defending Nordic champion. Last year he won an exiciting and well played final, with 40-39 against Brian Knudsen, also from Denmark. Torbjørn Blomdahl, Dion Nelin and Michael Nilsson are the only big nordic billard guns who are not participating in the championship. All the rest of the international well known Danish and Swedish players, are among the 32 participants.

The most known players: Tonny Carlsen, Brian Zola Hansen, Brian Knudsen, Lars Dunch, Hans Laursen and Benny Staalbo from Denmark. And Nalle Olsson, Peter Lohmander, Bjørn Lohmander and David Pennør from Sweden.
 
The tournament consist of a group fase and a knock out fase. The winner, and thereby new Nordic Champion 2016, receives 10.000 D.kr.
 
The president of the Danish Billard Federation, Mr. Flemming Busk Knudsen, is in charge of the opening ceremony on Thursday the 6th of October. The tournament director is the vice-president of the Danish Billard Federation, Mr. Michael B. Nielsen.
