ROSMALEN - The Dutch top team Etikon, the five-time European champion and ten-time Dutch champion in the classic games, is hosting five European top teams in Sportfoyer De Hazelaar in Rosmalen this weekend. The team, which is led by Bennie Deegens, is the title holder and organizer of the European Cup final for classic teams.

The tournament will be played from 8 to 10 May in Etikon's new clubhouse. Etikon/AEJ is not the Dutch champion this year: the team was beaten for the first time by its big competitor, A1 Biljart/De Veemarkt.

The main reason was Henri Tilleman's farewell to the team, but the 47/2 expert has made his comeback and is one of the start players again.
Etikon shows up in its strong line-up in which the team took the title last year with Henri Tilleman, Patrick Niessen and Jean Paul de Bruijn. Gert-Jan Veldhuizen is the substitute.

The competition comes from the German DBC Bochem, Vitkov Prague and three French teams. The group format is:

Group A:

Etikon/AEJ (Nl): Niessen, De Bruijn, Tilleman, Veldhuizen
Andernos (Fr): De Backer, Gérassimopoulos, Baudoin
Oissel (Fr): Petit, Devogelaere, Kahofer

Group B:

DBC Bochum (Ger): Blondeel, Havlik, Nockemann, Van Etten
Vitkov Prague (Cze) Faus, Leppens, Zenkner, Baca
Chartres (Fr): Gretillat, Gérimont, Justice

The official opening is on Friday, May 8th at 15.30. The first matches start at 16.00.

The match lengths are:

Balkline 47/2: 250 points
Balkline 71/2: 200 points
One cushion: 120 points.
