Peter Ceulemans was defeated by Pierre Soumagne

The last World Cup of the year so far is not the tournament of the young generation with the name Ceulemans. Bart, the young talent, was eliminated in the group stage, Peter, who is already a wellknown top player, was defeated this afternoon by Pierre Soumagne. The French talent, particularly successful in the serie games, wants to develop himself more and more as a three-cushion. The victory against Peter Ceulemans (2-1 in sets) in any case is good for his reputation.

The Belgian couldn't shine in the battle after the win in the first set (15-6 in 11 innings). He looked now and then, after another mis, desperate into the air, but then forgot to score.

Pierre Soumagne needed a narrow escape in the second set (15-14), but then showed himself as the better player in the deciding set. With a run of six and one last point in the tenth inning he finished the match on 15-9. The average of Ceulemans nevertheless was slightly higher (1.085) than that of Soumagne (1.028). Both players meet later this day the Austrian Gerhard Kostistansky.
Therese Klompenhouwer surprised this afternoon with one winning set, but then had to congratulate the Dane Tonny Carlsen as the winner on the finish line.
