French player Adrie Tachoire meets Berkay Karakurt in the semi's

ZEVENBERGEN - The semi-finals at the junior European championship three cushion will be played between Berkay Karakurt and Adrien Tachoire, in the other match Antonio Montes and Wesley van Apers meet each other.

Dutch champion Jordy Kruijf was the last player in the quarters who was eliminated in a thrilling final battle against Wesley van Apers (30-28 in 37). Berkay Karakurt outplayed the Belgian champion Andy de Bondt 30-22 in 32, Frenchman Adrien Tachoire bested Sergio Aparichio 30-16 in 29.

Antonio Montes from Spain is one of the contenders for the title after his win against Alexis Rouaud: 30-16. He was never in danger against the long Frenchman and led 18-6, 21-9 and 29-11 before he closed the match in the 29th inning 30-16.

Jordy de Kruijf showed his uncomplicated playing style against Wesley van Apers and still led at 19-15 and 22-17. The match hung in balance until 28-28, the Belgian had the better final shot.

Berkay Karakurt ran away to 19-9 after an excellent start against Andy de Bond. The Belgian champion fought back to 19-18, but was trumped in the last match part. Adrien Tachoire played dominated the match against Spaniard Aparicio from start to finish, led 19-12 in twenty innings and finished off 30-16.

The semi-finals will be played tomorrow, Sunday, at 11.30.
