Jean-Louis Steuts passed away in his hometown Tienen

TIENEN - In his hometown Tienen has passed away yesterday, after a long illness, the Belgian Jean-Louis Steuts. He was for many years the secretary of the KBBB, the billiards federation in his country, was also chairman and sportsdirector youth of the CEB, the European bllards confideration.

He still was holding that position within the CEB in the period of his illness. During the European championships in Brandenburg, two weeks ago, Steuts was no longer present. He was excused during the congress.

The Belgian federation president Reginald Depoorter describes Jean-Louis Steuts as a very strict but fair man. ,,He could be rather short tempered, but he was an honest man and very important for the billiard sport. He has thoroughly revised the regulations yet. Jean-Louis was a policeman, superintendent first class and a man who wanted us in our sport to live by the rules. We lose a great sports director and a great man.''

Jean-Louis Steuts was born on August 26, 1946 in Tervuren and died yesterday (May 11) in Tienen. There he will be cremated, in Grimde-Tienen, Friday at 11.00.
