BRANDENBURG - The French club of Andernos has won the tournament three cushion for club teams at the small table. Filippos Kasidokostas and Peter De Backer defeated the Turkish team with Can Capak and Byrol Uymaz in the final. Jérôme Barbeillon, Roland Forthomme also belonged to the winning team, led by president and team captain Bernard Baudoin.
The Turks of Mecidiyeköy Spor Kulubu had no chance in the battle for the gold. Peter De Backer defeated Birol Uymaz 40-16 in 12/11 innings and Filippos Kasidokostas won his duel with Can Capak in a match that was stopped when the score was 34-20 in 17/16.
Andernos won six games in the group stage with a total average of 2.450, thanks to three victories of Peter De Backer, two of Filippos Kasidokostas and one time Roland Forthomme.
In the semifinals, another Turkish club, Bahcelievler Belediye Spor Kulubu, was defeated by Andernos. Kasidokostas bested Murat Tüzül, Peter De Backer beat Adnan Yüksel 35-31.
Mecidiyeköy Spor Kulubu took the silver medal with an overall average of 2.089.
The podium was completed by Bahcelievler Belediye Spor Kulubu with Yüksel and Tüzül (2.310 average) and the Dutch Post Luchtkanalen with Huub Wilkowski and Wilco van Wijk (1.479 average).
