MALMÖ - Torbjörn Blomdahl has been crowned as Swedish champion again. In the final of the championship, that was played in the Carombole Club in Malmö, he defeated David Pennör 3-1. Third place went to Michael Nilsson.
The Swedish championship was played to forty points in the qualifications phase and in the final phase to three winning sets. The level of the best twelve players was higher than ever before: close to 1.000.
Torbjörn Blomdahl finished with the highest average of all participants after three days of playing. He finished 1.384 overall, Michael Nilsson 1.156.
In the semi-finals Blomdahl defeated Björn Lohmander 3-0. David Pennör, a player with Vietnamese blood, who once survived a plane crash, surprisingly won against Michael Nilsson, 3-1.
The highest run of nine in the final stage was made by four players: Michael Nilsson, Peter Lohmander, Torsten Svendsen and Stefan Hillvin.
