Tayfun Tasdemir double winner for BC Stuttgart against Jaspers and Horn

BERLIN/MAGDEBURG - The tension has increased in the German race for the title this week and will lead to a decision in the last double weekend. The two teams competing for the championship are BC Stuttgart and BC Magdeburg with 37 and 35 points respectively with two games before the end of the bundesliga.

Martin Horn played the best match with a win against Kostas Papakonstantinou in 15 innings. Dick Jaspers, BC Magdeburg's leading player, suffered a remarkably poor weekend. On Saturday the world champion lost to Papakonstantinou 40-18 in 19, on Sunday against Tayfun Tasdemir 40-15 in 20. The top match between BC Stuttgart and BC Magdeburg ended 4-4.  Dion Nelin beat Murat Naci Coklu 40-32 in 30, Markus Schönhoff beat Thorsten Frints 40-31 in 33 and Ramazan Durdu defeated Michael Puse 40-18 in 29.

BC Stuttgart lost one point against BC International (4-4) on Saturday, including a win by Tayfun Tasdemir against Martin Horn (40-37 in 17). For the Belgians, Frédéric Caudron played against Peter Ceulemans and won 40-28 in 24 innings.  For the Netherlands, Jean van Erp and Barry van Beers met and Van Erp won 40-35 in 23.  Dave Christiani was the better of Javier Palazón 40-29 in 26. Jean Paul de Bruijn played a draw against Ronny Lindemann: 40 -40 in 53 innings.
