Tenth Spanish title for Catalan team

LOS NAREJOS/MURCIA - The Catalan team has captured the title in the Spanish three cushion championship for club teams. In the final, the Catalans defeated Madrid. The teams of Murcia and Valencia completed the stage in Los Narejos, where the final was played.

The last day in Los Narejos was an exciting battle between the four finalists. In the first semifinal, the defending champion Valencia was defeated by Madrid thanks to victories by Alfonso Legazpi, Rafa Antón Garrido and Valentin Andaluz. The only victory for Valencia came from Javier Palazón, who bested Ruben Legazpi. Palazón was individually the best player in the finals.

In the other semi-final, the Catalans won the match against Murcia 6-2. Minguell, Yeste and Garriga won their matches for the Catalan team. Alberto Sintas was the only winner for Murcia.

The Catalan team was looking for its tenth title in the final, the Madrileños fort heir ninth title. Xavier Minguell defeated Ruben Legazpi (40-33 in 24), Ricardo Garcia was the better of Valentin Andaluz 40-33 in 32. Rafael Garrido gave the Madrid team some hope by a win over Jordi Garriga 40-38 in 35, but it was not enough for the overall win, because Xavier Yeste claimed victory against Alfonso Legazpi.

Therefore, the Catalan team took its tenth title.
