Martin Horn won the match against Eddy Merckx

EEKLO - The teams in the lower regions of the Belgian league, made a good impression on the seventh day of the competition. The Royal BC Eeklose treated BC Quality Zele, still considered as one of the title candidates, on a terrible performance (8-0). Royal Kortrijk, which rose to the top three, held Geox Herentals on 4-4. BC Deurne kept the points at home against the BC De Ploeg, although Eddy Merckx, the leader in the team of BC Deurne, lost against Martin Horn.
Six teams of the twelve have to come in action tonight, the most important for the top of the ranking is the match between Mister 100 Lier and BC Kasteeldreef. The Ceulemans team needs a win to share Geox Herentals at the top.

Three matches were played yesterday evening. Jef Philipoom (against Allan Jensen), Davy Havere (Wesley Jaeger) and Therese Klompenhouwer (win against Bart Ceulemans) brushed the defeat of Eddy Merckx against Martin Horn (50-44 in 29 innings) and took care for the win of BC Deurne.

BC Quality Zele had a total offday, although Peter de Backer has reached an average of 1.454 against Steven van Acker, who finished including a run of ten in 33 turns an with an average of 1.515. Jean Paul de Bruijn again was no shadow of the player he was a few years ago. The Dutchman now lost to Christiaan de Mil, 50-45 in 52 innings, an average of 0.865 for De Bruijn. Kesteloot and Vlerick also lost their matches, which means that BC Quality has dropped to the last places in the ranking.
BC Geox,  the leader, drawed against Royal Kortrijkse. Dion Nelin (against Ronny Brants) and Christiaan Rudolph (against Henk Blauwblomme) won their matches. Ronny Brants lost in spite of a run of ten, which was together with the run of Steven van Acker the highest of the Monday night session.
