The eight finalists in Spain: Paiporta is the best

PAIPORTA/PALMA - The eight teams which have qualified for the final of the Spanish team championship are known. Paiporta, Alcantarillas, Palma and Kalima Rivas were the group winners after two days of semifinals. The Paiporta team with Javier Palazón and Dion Nelin ended with the best average: 1.593. Dion Nelin had the best individual average 1.818 and played the best match: 2.667.

In the third and final session, Madrid Esc. nacional was eliminated by a loss against Valencia, including a victory from Martin Horn against Roland Forthomme: 40-34 in 30.

The seeded teams are Paiporta, Kalima Rivas, Alcantarilla, Asoc. Palma, Ateneo Merc. CB Valencia, Casino Cartagena and CB Mataró.

The final round:

Group A:

Valencia advanced by a victory over Nacional Madrid. Palma finished as second. Martin Horn and Dave Christiani were the match winners. The Dutchman beat Jose Maria Mas 40-35 in 25 innings.

Group B:

The group winner Paiporta bested in its last game Castalla 7-1. Javier Palazón and Glenn Hoffman played a draw: 40-40 in 34 innings. Dion Nelin beat Birol Uymaz 40-29 ub 24. Ateneo was the second by a 8-0 victory over Antequera. Jérémy Bury won his match in 32 innings, Juan Villora in 24.

Group C:

Kalima Rivas remained unbeaten and defeated Real de Regatas in the last match 7-1. Ruben Legázpi was the best man of the team with a victory in 26 innings. Casino Cartagena beat Danyells 6-2. David Martinez and Juan David Zapata won in 36 and 32 innings.

Group D:

Alcantarilla, with Eddy Leppens and Peter Ceulemans, won its third match 6-2 against Sant Adria. The Spaniards Jose Guirao and D Carlos Aguita remained unbeaten for Alcantarilla. CB Mataró won the last game vs Allicante 6-2.
