Therese Klompenhouwer: 11th title in 11 championships

OOSTERHOUT - The Womens world champion three cushion player, Therese Klompenhouwer, took her eleventh Dutch national title in eleven championships. She had to beat the 65-year-old Zeeland player Joke Breur in the always cozy billiard room at Camping De Eekhoorn in Oosterhout. Therese fixed the job as a real champion: 30-10 in 29 innings. "I kept my best for the last days'', said Therese.

Where Dick Jaspers sometimes misses a Grand Prix or even a title in his country, it's almost impossible that it happens to Therese Klompenouwer.  Andrea Hofman, the Colombian who is living in The Hague for several years since she's married to Glenn Hoffman, is the hope for the future. The young lady played a promising tournament at this championship, she averaged around and over 0.5 and lost in the semi-final to Therese.

The Dutch championship was a fight again, or actually a demonstration of one against all. Karina Jetten, Gerrie Geelen and Monique Wilkoswki are just a few names of previously announced rivals. But like in every championship before they were outplayed by the lady who is towering on the throne of women's billiards.

Miriam Pruim-Emmens, however, made a good come-back after being away for one year. Joke Breur, a 65-year-old lady from Zeeland, made it to the final against Therese.

It must be said that the Dutch championship was flawlessly organized in De Eekhoorn, the atmosphere was special and the referees were performed at high national levels.

Semi-finals:
Therese Klompenhouwer-Andrea Hofman 30-13 in 21 (runs 6/3)
Joke Breur-Mirjam Pruim-Emmens 30-28 in 52 (runs 3/2)

Final: Therese Klompenhouwer-Joke Breur 30-10 in 29 (1.034-0.344 (runs 4/2).

The final four women at the championship in Oosterhout.
