The sixteen participants in the Dutch championship

EIBERGEN – Three cushion for ladies in the Netherlands is dominated since 2004 by Therese Klompenhouwer. The 27-year old professional player from Nijkerk again grabbed the championship in her country this afternoon and in fact she had no opposition throughout the whole tournament. The champion played almost all her matches with an average around 1.000, her opponents around 0.500.
The triple European champion in the semifinals this morning defeated Gerrie Geelen (30-15 in 33 innings) in the finals she played her only moderate match aginst Anja Wines: 30-21 in 52 innings.
The tournament, which was orgainsed in the Overkamp in Eibergen, was played with sixteen finalists. Therese Klompenhouwer finished with an average of 0.842 and a highest run of nine. Four players climbed over a threshold of 0.500: Gerrie Geelen (3rd), Monique van Hamond (4th), Karin Jetten (5th) and Joke Breur (9th).
Anja van Wijnen, the surprising finalste and number two in the ranking, julst totalised 0.463 average and a highest run of four.
Therese confirmed the form that she allready shows for weeks in the Dutch and Belgian league. Next Sunday she will play in Sluiskil with the team of Verbrugge Terminals in the Premiership match against Van Donge and De Roo. The Dutch champion then departs to Egypt for the World Cup in Hurghada.
