One of the stylish ladies at the Dutch championship

OOSTERHOUT - Therese Klompenhouwer has won her tenth national title in the Dutch three cushion championship. The tournament was played in De Eekhoorn in Oosterhout. In the final match, Therese defeated the surprising Loes van Dansik 30-18 in 34 innings. On stage were also Gerrie Geelen, who played a wonderful championship, and Joke Breur. The supremacy of Klompenhouwer was less big than in the previous championships.

The semi-final match between Therese Klompenhouwer, the number one on the world's ladies ranking, and Gerrie Geelen, the former champion, was the best and most exciting of the tournament. Therese was leading 16-3 after five. After that, Geelen was the woman who dominated: she came back spectacularly and even led 27-23 shortly before the end. But eventually, Klompenhouwer still managed to win with a final run of three. The 30-27 in 20 was a pure promotion for ladies billiard.

Therese Klompenhouwer also had to fight in the pre-rounds. She won the match against Joke Breur by one point, 25-24.

The final ranking:
1 Therese Klompenhouwer 1.071-9
2 Loes van Dansik 0.541-5
3 Gerrie Geelen 0.710-5
3 Joke Breur 0.500-4
5 Monique van Exter 0.556-5
6 Karina Jetten 0.539-5
7 Monique Wilkowski 0.490-5
8 Daisy Werdekker 0.474-3.
