The French top players meet for the thirde Grand Prix

LAXOU - The Grand Prix cycle three cushion in France is close to the showdown. The third event in the series of four, after Chartres in November, is coming up in Nancy this weekend. The tournament starts on Friday at 8.30. The whole day will be filled with qualification matches. The final rounds are on Saturday and Sunday.

The best French players, led by Jérémy Bury, the number one in his country and sixth in the world ranking and Pierre Soumagne from Laxou, winner of the first season's tournament in Saint Maur and currently number second in the circuit.

These two players will represent their country at the World championships for national teams in Viersen in March. They will face amongst others Jérôme Barbeillon, third at the national Grand Prix list, Cédric Melnytschenko, Jean-Christophe Roux, Jean Reverchon, Francis Connesson, Xavier le Roy, Frédéric Roelants, Jean Jacques Boudin, Louis Edelin, Bernard Baudoin, Frédéric Beghin, Jéremie Picart and Joel Switala in Nancy.

Most known players from the Laxou home team in the tournament are Jean-Paul Six on 19th place, Eric Kremer-Leclaire, Matthieu Franck, Damien Quney, Stephane Friedel, Vincent Kovacic in the barrage group.

On the start list of participants are a number of 72 players.
