HALLE-ZOERSEL - Who could have thought that at the start of the Belgian competition? The team of De Ploeg finds itself in the top three of the ranking after five rounds behind De Goeie Queue and Herentals. The three W's in the team (Wilkowski, Weeremans and Willems) were good for the maximum win against St. Truidense this week: 6-2.

The transfers of Martin Horn, Jef Philipoom, Jean van Erp and Wesley de Jager, who left Danielle le Bruyn's team, is not so dramatically as expected, however the ranking gives a disorted view, because BC Deurne and De Witte Molen are one match behind.

Ronny Lindemann, the leader in De Ploeg's team, was the only one who lost on Monday in the home match: 50-32 against Frédéric Mottet in 34 innings. Huub Wilkowski defeated Thomas Broux (50-38 in 41), Dirk Weeremans bested Paul Dumont (42-30 in 40) and Eddy Willems secured the maximum with a win against Kurt Bruggheman (42-28 in 43).

BC Herentals the number two behind De Goeie Queue, thanks to the German duo Horn and Rudolph. Martin Horn defeated Raimond Burgman 50-32 in 24 innings in the match against Biljartvrienden, Christian Rudolph was too strong for John Tyssens, the Dutchman who made a run of sixteen this weekend in the Dutch league. Rudolph beat Tyssens 50-28 in 28. Geert Meylemans took the third win, Leon Smolders played a draw against Johan Claessen.

Biljart Express, playing without Gerwin Valentijn and Guy van Litsenborg, lost at home against BC op de Meir. The match finished 6-2 with wins for Eddy Leppens (50-46 in 37 against Frans van Kuijk), Roland Uytdewilligen (42 in 30) and Ivan Stitscinsky.
The other three matches were postponed due to the World Cup in Korea.

BC Deurne-De Ploeg 2 will be played on 22 December. De Witte Molen-BC Zanzibar on 14 October and De Goeie Queue-Koninklijke Brugse on 21 October.
