ANTALYA - Where has the time gone that top players could at least survive two or three rounds in a World Cup without meeting a feared and well known opponent. The level has grown so high that Dick Jaspers, the number one ranked player, already will meet Sung-Won Choi in his second match, Frédéric Caudron will face Lütfi Cenet tomorrow and Eddy Merckx plays against Tayfun Tasdemir, what means that it's gonna be an unalloyed Turkey-Belgium.

Dani Sánchez can't say that he'll meet a small boy as well with the Korean Jae Ho Cho and actually it seemed that Torbjörn Blomdahl would meet Marco Zanetti in the eighth finals, but the young Glenn Hoffman defeated the Italian, so the Swede will now face the Dutch revelation of this tournament.

When Frederic Caudron had finished his match already for half an hour, beating the Colombian Robinson Morales in a fast and furious performance  (15-10, 15-2, 15-6, average 1.956), the audience and the players could speculate about the matches in the next round.

The Belgian master saw his compatriot Eddy Merckx ran to the finish against Murat Naci Coklu (15-9, 15-11, 15-14) and noticed that Merckx will meet another Turk tomorrow, Tayfun Tasdemir.

Two Belgians will return in the arena tomorrow, two are out. The winners shone with a 3-0 score, both of them with 15-14 in the third set. Caudron as well as Merckx closed the match with a strong run and made an end to the illusions of Coklu and Morales.
