Tonny Carlsen took the Nordic title in a final match with David Pennör

COPENHAGEN 

     Danish player Tonny Carlsen is the new Nordic champion in three cushion billiards. The Scandinavian tournament, named SIMONIS Nordic championship, was played in Copenhagen. Tonny Carlsen won the final match against Swedish champion David Pennør, 40-32 in 29 innings. The last point Carlsen had to make in the final, was a massé shot which he hit with perfection, giving him a big applause from the audience. It was his first Nordic win in his career.

In the semifinals, David Pennør was the better of Jacob Haack Sörensen in a thrilling match, 40-38 in 32 innings. Tonny Carlsen faced Dion Nelin in the orther semifinal and was behind midway in the match. He made an amazing come-back and scored the last 25 points in six innings after the break, 40-23 in 19 innings.
 
The reigning Nordic champion Thomas Andersen lost to Dion Nelin in the quarter finals. He finished in fifth place. Peter Lohmander from Sweden played the best match, 2.307 of average.

The championship was organized by the Danish Billiard Federation and the Nordic Billiard Council.
