Top billings for the quarter finals

The deciding match between Frédéric Caudron and Frédéric Mottet in the evening session.

LOMMEL – Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Leppens, the two organizers of the Cuvino Superprestige, meet tomorrow at 13.00 for their quarterfinal. Two former winners, Roland Forthomme and Eddy Merckx, start off proceedings at 11.00.

Jef Philipoom, the big winner of the final evening of qualifying, meets  Peter Ceulemans and Peter De Backer will cross swords with his former teammate Martin Spoormans.

These top billings are the result of this evening’s draw, based on the results of the four flights. On the fourth and final evening, Jef Philipoom won all three of his matches, he defeated Frédéric Caudron amongst others, and – like Peter De Backer on the first day and Eddy leppens on the third – remained unbeaten.

During the last of the four flight matches, the first runs of 10 were recorded. The makers: Jef Philipoom and Frédéric Mottet.

After his loss to Jef Philipoom, Frédéric Caudron needed to beat  Frédéric Mottet in his third match, in order to get to the quarters. The battle of the Frédérics was close fors some time, but then Caudron pulled away and did so decisively: 40-20.
