MEDELLIN - The top billings today in the final rounds at the Pan American championships is the match between Robinson Morales and Heriberto Aristizabal, two leaders of the Colombian billiards. They meet in the first knockout round with 32 players that survived the group matches.
Another Colombian star player, Luis Martinez, was the best in the final qualification with wins over Alexander Salazar in sixteen innings (30-27) and Juan Sisterna in 17 (30-11). Robinson Morales played the best match with a win against Jose Ledesma in ten innings (30-12). In his second game Morales played a draw against Marco Sobarzo.
Luis Aveiga from Ecuador suffered a painful defeat in his first match against Regilio Morales (30-9 in 13), but recovered in his second with a win over Hugo Miranda.
Javier Terán and Hugo Patino, two of the big names in the tournament, were in balance after 21 innings 30-30. Michel Lozano played a magnificent match against Miguel Canton: 30-13 in 16, run 11.
