The Zundert team which is facing the leader in the rank: Dallinga

ZUNDERT - The number one in the Dutch ’eredivisie’, Dallinga-Frans Bevers, faces the number two, STZ in Zundert on Sunday. The numbers three and four face each other in Amsterdam. The fifth round is very important for further developments in the competition: at the end the top four teams battle for the championship in the playoffs.

Dallinga-Frans Bevers put himself in title picture again. The Sluiskil team, led by Jan Kikken, with Frédéric Caudron as top gun, has made an impeccable start eight match points out of four. The only ’not-win’ so far was Jean Paul de Bruijn’s draw against Berry Dallinga in the derby vs Verbrugge.

The champion feels stronger than ever and sets off with strong weapons to Zundert to cross swords with STZ. Peter De Backer is second man in the squad instead of Eddy Leppens, who with BCC Witten plays a double weekend in Germany.

The top of the individual ranking also shows how strong the Dallinga has started the competition. Frédéric Caudron averages 2.564 after four machtes, Peter De Backer 2.173 in two. The other players in the top four are Raimond Burgman,  1.723 and Roland Forthomme 1.678.

Top Billing in Biljartcentrum Den Hoek is Roland Forthomme against Frédéric Caudron, but the matches between Peter Ceulemans and Peter De Backer, Barry van Beers and Jean Paul de Bruijn and the two youngsters Raymon Groot and Glenn Hoffman are very interesting as well.

Partycentrum Osdorp and Van Wanrooij Transport batlle for third place, with the Amsterdam team in advance as big favorite for the win. Dick Jaspers, Eddy Merckx, Frans van Kuyk and Dick Uum, to be honest, carry more, significant weight than Frank Martens, Jan Arnouts, Ad Broeders and Wim van Cromvoirt.

The fixed leader, Kurt Ceulemans, is not playing for his team, also Harrie van der Ven is missing. Kurt: ,,We have the agreement that each of us is missing once, so that the substitutes can play their matches. Not so bad, for me, this time, because in the Mr 100, our billiards café in Lier, there is a staff shortage this weekend, now I can work myself on Sunday.’’

Dick Jaspers, in preparation for the Worlds in Antwerp, performs in the bundesliga for Magdeburg on Saturday and in Sander Jonen’s Partycentrum on Sunday.

The other matches for the Dutch league:

Biljartcafé Jorissen-Holland Mineraal
Aardexpress-De Distel
A1 Biljart-’s Landswelvaren
Garage Verbrugge Hyundai-Capelle de Terp.
