Torbjörn Blomdahl is the new champion in Sweden.

HELSINGBORG - Torbjörn Blomdahl is the new champion in three-cushion in Sweden. He succeeds Michael Nilsson, who was eliminated in the semifinals.
Blomdahl defeated in the finals David Pennör in a match played in sets. The multiple champion awarded his opponent no set (3-0). Blomdahls overall average was 1.603, his highest run eight.

Michael Nilsson and Björn Lohmander were the losing finalists in the championship which was played in Helsingborg. Pennör finished the tournament with an average of 1.136, Nilsson with 1.350 and the highest run of ten, Lohmander with 1.023. Lennart Blomdahl and Nalle Olsson were the numbers five and six of the rank.

Twelve players were scheduled for the championship, they were divided into two groups of six. In the qualifications they played to forty points, in the knockout phase to three winning sets. The championship was organized by the BK Borgen, the club of Torbjörn Blomdahl, Pennör and Lohmander.

Blomdahl deserves with his title for the world ranking thirty points, but he lost eighteen points as the loosing finalist last year. He remains seventh in the rankings behind Daniel Sánchez.
