SCHILTIGHEIM - The show gets on the road again on the last day of the Agipi qualifications in the Groups A and B. The Korean Kyung-Roul Kim is the only player who can watch the last rounds from his seat in the arena: he has finished his performance with a last, spectacular win last night and has been seeded for the final round.

For two other players in Group A (Sung-Won Choi and Frédéric Caudron) and four in Group B (Eddy Merckx, Roland Forthomme, Daniel Sanchez and Jérémy Bury) there will be some matches with a lot of tension. The qualification round will get a fascinating finish.

Frédéric Caudron and Sung-Won Choi will decide in a mutual match who will join Kyung-Roul Kim to the final weekend on 22, 23, 24 and 25 of March. Caudron has only one mission: he must win. He can't afford a draw, because the Korean has the same points and a better average over three games (1.971 against 1.733).

The other group can go any way, because there are two sessions left. Eddy Merckx has theoretically the best chances with four match points and the best average (1.932). He meets in his last game of the day Jérémy Bury, the finalist last year, who's fighting for his last chance to qualify .

The Belgians Merckx and Forthomme are the group leaders with four points from three matches, Sánchez and Bury both have two points from two matches. Still everything is possible. Bury has a tough program with matches against Sánchez and Merckx. The chances for Forthomme depend mainly on his match against HaengJik Kim: if the Belgian wins, he has six match points. But even then there is a chance that Merckx and Sanchez will finish at six points as well.

Eddy Merckx has the best general average after two days: 1.932, before Sung-Won Choi (1.971), Kyung-Roul Kim (1.918), Frédéric Caudron (1.733), Nikos Polychronopoulos (1.712), Dani Sánchez (1.706) and Roland Forthomme (1.700).

Frédéric Caudron scored the highest run so far: seventeen in his match against Polychronopoulos. Seven players made runs of ten and more, which are good for bonuses of 500 euros and in the case of Caudron 750: Caudron, Choi, Bury, Philipoom, Kyung-Roul Kim, Forthomme and Polychronopoulos.

The matches for today:

Group A:
17.30: Caudron-Choi and Philipoom-Polychronopoulos.

Group B:
14.00: Bury-Sánchez and Forthomme-HaengJik Kim.
21.00: Merckx-Bury and Sánchez-HaengJik Kim.
