TRABZON - Seven Turks, three Spaniards, three Dutchmen, two Koreans, one Belgian, one Italian, one Greek, one Japanese and one Frenchman have qualified today for the final round to seed for the main tournament of the World Cup in Trabzon. Barry van Beers was the first substitute, he may play tomorrow for Christian Rudolph who is absent.

On the penultimate day of qualifying Pierre Soumagne, Can Capak, David Pennör, Dave Christiani and some other strong players were dropped out of the tournament. Savas Bulut was the best of the day with a superb average of 2.857 and a highest run of eleven, before José Maria Más with 1.764, Peter Ceulemans 1.621, Chung Bok Lee 1.530 and Haeng Jik Kim with 1.500. Glenn Hofmann and Carlos Crespo were with 1.428 both not far behind.

Twenty players tomorrow move on to the twelve groups which will compete for twelve places in the main event. The groups promise a lot of interesting duels. The most unpredictable group is probably with Glenn Hofmann, the strong Japanese Mori and Adnan Yüksel. Also exceptionally strong is the trio with Peter Ceulemans, Antonio Ortiz and Ruben Legazpi.

Barry van Beers, entered through the back door, is linked to José Maria Más and Vagelis Moulos Más. Savas Bulut, the ace of today, plays against Emilio Sciacca, Raimond Burgman against Andreas Efler and Roland Forthomme against Jérôme Barbeillon.
Jean van Erp faces in his group Jean Reverchon and Sameh Sidhom. Therese Klompenhouwer will meet Jean Paul de Bruijn and Nikos Polychronopoulos.
