CAÏRO/ZÜRICH - Farouk Barki and Torsten Danielsson have announced their candidacy for the presidency of the UMB, the Union Mondiale de Billard. That seat has been filled temporarily since the European Championship by Fernando Requena, after Jean Claude Dupont resigned.
The Spaniard will return to his position as vice-chairman during the UMB congress and general assembly on 16 January 2016 in Cairo.
Farouk Barki from Egypt has been a member of the UMB board for many years. He is the sports director and well-known technical delegate at the World Cups and World championships.
Torsten Danielsson from Switzerland became a UMB board member during last year's congress in Sluiskil. He took the seat as board member and later was given the responsibility for corporate development.
