Two leaders with the maximum win in Belgium

Barry van Beers, best player on the 7th match day

TURNHOUT/MALLE The two front-runners in the Belgian three cushion league both achieved the maximum win on the seventh match day. BC Deurne won 8-0 against Biljartvrienden, De Goeie Queue with the same score against De Ploeg 2. Barry van Beers crowned himself to the best player of this match day with 2.777 average.

The Dutchman sealed victory for his team Op de Meir in the away match vs De Ploeg 2 (8-0) and slowly climbs to the upper half of the ranking. Barry van Beers defeated Mathy Monnissen 50-13 in 18 innings. Eddy Leppens played over two against Jaak Wijnen: 50-25 in 25.

Frédéric Caudron and Eddy Merckx led the champions team De Goeie Queue to a big victory with wins for Caudron in 24 and Merckx in 25 innings. BC Deurne returned home with the maximum profit from Biljartvrienden thanks to Jef Philipoom (28 innings), Jean van Erp (35), Davy van Havere (31) and Ludo Dielis (47).

Zanzibar lost one match point to the two leaders by a draw at Billiart Express. Roland Forthomme was the only player of his team who performed on the highest level when he beat Frans van Kuyk (50-37 in 22, 2.272). Dave Christiani goes through a minor period and lost against Gerwin Valentin 50-46 in 38. Kenny Miatton, not in a great form this time, nevertheless defeated Martin Spoormans: 42-36 in 45.

BC Herentals clinched a narrow victory away from the match in Roeselare (5-3). Martin Horn defeated Steven van Acker 50-41 in 23 innings. Cédric Melnytschenko was the winner for the home vs Christian Rudolph: 50-36 in 29.

Mister 100 Lier and De Witte Molen shared the points and remain in the midst of the ranking. Peter Ceulemans took the match on centre court against Glenn Hofman 50-44 in 41. Raymond Ceulemans was once again best man of the evening with a victory against Ad Broeders: 42-22 in 25, 1.680 average for the all-time star.

BC Deurne leads the ranking with fourteen points, the same as De Goeie Queue, but with a slightly better team average: 1.454 vs 1.435. Zanzibar is now one point behind.

De Ploeg 1 and Dos Roeselare close the ranking with one point.
