ANTWERP - The imposing singer and comedian, who took the initiative for a new Supercup and Player of the Year cycle, doesn't know anything about billiards himself. ,,I once played with Ludo Dielis on his table'', said Luc Caals at the press conference in the Hilton Hotel in Antwerp, where the gala will be held on Saturday, February 21st.
,,He told me that, sometimes I had to touch the ball left, to arrive right... I don't understand it, so we stopped playing and took a beer.''
But anyway, he's is a true lover of the gala, Luc Caals, who is with the Benelux Theater responsible for the eleventh edition of the event. And because ,,a final stop'' doesn't mean a ,,stop for ever'' for Ludo Dielis, the former champion stepped again into the organization and has all under control.
The billiard arena at the Hilton hotel will be filled on the night of the gala with 350 guests, who not only will be treated to billiards on the highest level, also to a night full of entertainment.
,,It feels like coming home, here at the Hilton,'' said Dielis, talking about his event. ,,And people around the event have told me that it is for more than one year, so let's hope the gala will be on the calendar for the coming years.''

Hilton hotel on the Groenplaats in Antwerp
Date: Saturday February 21 from 18.00.
Program: Supercup match between the world champion Sung-Won Choi and the World cup winner Frédéric Caudron to the best of seven (sets to seven points).
Election of the Player of the Year with three players nominated, elected by all the UMB countries in the world and the top fifty of three-cushion players on the world ranking. The nominees are: Sung-Won Choi, Frédéric Caudron and Torbjörn Blomdahl.
Price: 5000 euros for the winner of the Supercup, 1500 euros for the loser. 5000 euros for the Player of the Year, 1500 euros for the number two, 1000 for the number three.
A trophy (the Ludo Dielis World 3 Cushion Player award) for the Player of the Year with a value of about 50.000 euros (set with 618 diamonds). The player who wins the trophy three times in five years, will be the owner.
Semih Sayginer will give a demonstration during the evening.
There will be a high tv and media exposure for the gala.
Antwerp tv will broadcast on Saturday from 22.00.
