World championship: fifteen places left

PORTO - The field of players for the World championship three cushion in Porto is almost complete. Two confederations have announced their players this week: eight of CPB (North and South America), four of ACBC (Asia).

The CEB players, twelve in total, must be known on 14 August. The World championship, that will be held in the Yeatman Hotel in Porto from 5 to 9 september, will traditionally have a field of 48 players. Dick Jaspers defends his world title, twenty players from the top of the world ranking were already qualified.

These players are Frédéric Caudron, Torbjörn Blomdahl, Dani Sánchez, Jérémy Bury, Filippos Kasidokostas, Sung-Won Choi, Kyung-Roul Kim, Jae Ho Cho, Martin Horn, Marco Zanetti, Eddy Merckx, Tayfun Tasdemir, Murat Naci Coklu, Lütfi Cenet, Choong Bok Lee, Javier Palazón, Eddy Leppens, Dong Kang Koong, Ryuuji Umeda and Adnan Yüksel.

The total field will be filled by 21 ranked players, twelve players from top of CEB, eight from CPB, four from ACBC, two wildcards from the organization and one from the UMB.

For the time being there are 33 players on the list. For the confederation CPB will play: Carlos Campino (Colombia), Heriberto Aristizabal (Colombia), Merlin Romero (Venezuela), Luis Aveiga (Ecuador), Juan Carlos Toro (Chile), Juan Pable Sisterna (Argentina), Marco Sobarzo (Chile ).

For ACBC (Asia): O Takeshima (Japan), Quyet Chien Tran (Vietnam), Vu Anh Duong (Vietnam) and Nguyen Quoc Nguyen.
