Ryuuji Umeda wants to organize of the World championship for ladies.

SCHILTIGHEIM - The best ladies in the world will finally play a World championship three cushion next year. The Japanese, former world champioen Ryuuji Umeda, had announced it last night in Schiltigheim, where he's playing in the Agipi Masters. ,,We have asked the UMB, the world federation, for the championship'', he said,

Ryuuji Umeda, himself the owner of a billiard club in Tokyo, assured that the tournament will take place in the Japanese capital. Orie Hida will defend her world title. The world championship wasn't held for some years. The last tournaments were in Sivas, Turkey (2008), Hoensbroek, Netherlands (2006) and Valencia, Spain (2004).

Orie Hida rarely hasn't appeared in tournaments in recent years due to a busy daily life. She played the USBA Women's Open in New York, July this year, where she was third behind Therese Klompenhouwer and Gerrie Geelen.

Umeda: ,,Orie Hida has assured me that she's gonna practice hard now and will try to defend her world title in Tokyo.''

The Dutch Therese Klompenhouwer, four times European champion, yearns for years for playing a world championship and show that she's the best of the world for the past years. She won her European title this year in Lille with an average of 1.021.

Also Gülsen Degener from Turkey, Gerrie Geelen and Karina Jetten from Netherlands, Danielle le Bruyn and Jamie Buelens from Belgium are players who want to shine on a world championship.
