The organization of the World Cup in Las Vegas revealed in these days for new year very good news. The tournament final will definitly take place, despite the doubts that had risen in recent weeks. The conflict between the American federation and the organizer is solved. In the UMB cycle of World Cups 2011, the tournament in Las Vegas on April 4 to 10 is the second after Trabzon in Turkey.
The news was distributed by Jim Shovak, the acting president of the USBA, the American federation. He wrote the following letter a few hours ago:
Dear USBA Members and Non-Members:
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Best Billiards lv, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and owner Ermanno Scalas will be hosting the UMB World Cup on April 4-10, 2011. More details will be given in the near future. Also, you should check the UMB website in the coming months for more information.
We would also like to apologize for a previous email sent on November 10th in which we indicated that we were 'in the process of determining if we are able to get it done. Apparently this may have cast doubt in people's minds that the World Cup would take place. That was certainly not the intention of the email. We apologize for that mistake and hope that everyone will want to be a part of the 2011 Las Vegas World Cup!'
