Eddy Merckx will top the world ranking according to the new rules.

HURGHADA - Torbjörn Blomdahl is still leading the three cushion world ranking after the World Cup in Hurghada. The Swede closes the year with 411 ranking points, Frédéric Caudron is second with 379, Sung-Won Choi third 373, Eddy Merckx fourth with 349 and Marco Zanetti fifth with 302. The Italian entered the top five after his victory at the Hurghada World Cup Hurghada. The Vietnamese Quyet Chien Tran, who did not play in Egypt, is the last on the top twelve ranking with 189 points.

The ranking will change significantly on 1st of January 2015: according to the new rules of the UMB, six World Cup tournaments are counted for the total ranking points instead of eight. Two tournaments that disappear are the World Cups of Peloponnese and Medellin in 2013.
