PARIS - For the first time, in a new format and following an Olympic campaign, a new tournament named World Team Trophy will be held on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 March in Roissy-en-France near Paris. In their joint dream to introduce billiards at the Olympic Games, the tournament was created by the world organization billiards WCBS, the French billiard federation and the campaign Billiard 2024. Men and women from all over the world (19 countries) will perform in this two days team event in the disciplines carom, pool and snooker.
The WCBS announced the cooperation with Olympic Channel, which will broadcast 8 matches over more than 12 hours. Kozoom will broadcast all matches live. www.olympicchannel.com
The teams at the World Team Trophy have a line-up both with men and women, 1 carom player (3-cushion), 1 snooker player and 1 pool player. The event is meant as a demonstration tournament, formulated to support a new format for the IOC.
The participating teams in all disciplines are:
4 men's teams: Europe, Asia, Rest of the world and France.
4 women's teams: Europe, Asia, Rest of the World, France.
The matches are fast and attractive with a 30-second shotclock for all players.

Pool: match to 5
Three cushion: matches to 30 caroms without equalizing inning.

Pool: match to 4
Carom: match to 25 caroms.
