The Coupe van Beem will be played from 17 until 19 August.

KORTRIJK - Young talents from three countries will perform in the Coupe van Beem on 17, 18 and 19 of August. The 24 participants are representing Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, the discipline is free game.

The tournament is organized by the Royal Biljartclub Gilde Hoger Op in Heule-Kortrijk. The players meet each other according to the averages on handicap basis.

The players with the highest average play to 300 caroms: Tobias Schramm from Germany and Jeffrey Lenaers from the Netherlands.

The Coupe Beem has been started in the Netherlands and is named after Jacques van Beem, a great billiard enthusiast and promotor, always dressed well and enjoying the pleasures of life. Jacques van Beem was one of the pioniers for the KNBB, the Dutch federation, in his glory years. Moreover, he was several years treasurer of the CEB, the European federation.

The Coupe van Beem was played for the first time on 7 and 8 June 1969 in Waalwijk, Netherlands. In the early years it was played by two countries, the Netherlands and Belgium. The cup was donated by the famous billiard cloth manufacturer Iwan Simonis. Some years later, Germany was added as the third country.

The participating teams (with caroms per player) are:

Belgium: Wesley Vergauwen (200), Stef van Hees (170), Gérôme Dieu (140), Kenny Vandermierde (80), Dylan Parent (80), Maarten Thuys (65), Joeri Roest (65), Mike Verschueren (50).

Netherlands: Jeffrey Lenaers (300), Yannik Jansen (225), Bastijn van Gageldonk (160), Peter Beljouw (130), Michael Vink (90), Maikel van Oosterhout (70), Jimmylee Heeringa (47), Silvy Glissenaar (35).

Germany: Tobias Schramm (300), Tobias Bouerdick (250), Torben Kather (160), Tom Löwe (150), Michael Ramge (120), Simon Blondeel (110), Marcel Back (110), Kai DieckmMayer (75).

The tournament starts on 17 August at 14:00. The final session on 19 August at 12.00.
