THESSALONIKI - The Greek billiard player Pavlos Zachariadis will organize an Open Grand Tournament three cushion from 28 March to 2 April. The event is played in Billiard Center Club in Thessaloniki.
Participation is opened to 128 players, who will perform in a 'Double Elimination system’ until 32 players remain for knockout system.
In the group stage the matches will be played to 30 points with a 50 inning limit. The semi finals are played to 40 points, the final to 50 points.
The main prize is $ 1,500.
On the first night (March 28) there is a welcome party and on the last day (April 2) a closing barbecue in Pavlos Palace after the finals.
The organizer wants to welcome participants from all over the world to create a family ambiance in a tournament that is comparable to a small World Cup.
The participants list is not complete yet, but in any case there will be three ladies at the players list: Brigitte Efler (Austria), Eleni Tsavari (Greece, Rhodes) and Sharon van Dijk (Netherlands).
Sharon van Dijk is looking for a new international experience after the World Cup in Hurghada. ,,I will go there with Jerry Hermans, a Dutch player and his friend Aldo Mastromatteo.''
