SLUISKIL - Marco Zanetti has placed himself with a demonstration of great skill among the top sixteen of the World championship in Sluiskil. With a resounding victory against Murat Coklu (3-0, 4.090 average), the Italian ex-champion of the world is now one of the favorites in the hunt for the title which Kasidokostas has lost.

At the end of the day the tournament lost two players from the top of the ranking. Jef Philipoom won 3-2 to Raimond Burgman, but his Dutch opponent advanced to the next round with a difference of one carom.

Luis Aveiga gave the audience a big surprise. The Ecuadorian miraculously survived a match point in the third set against Jeremy Bury, but then won the next three sets. He celebrated his victory by running circles around the billiard.

Daniel Sánchez had little trouble with Jae Hyung Cho from Korea. The Spaniard won 3-1 and averaged 1.685.
