Only Blomdahl would play this last point
You're down 40-34 with room for 0 mistakes and you manage to equalize. Then, your opponent makes a mistake and you just need this 1 last point for the crown. What are the chances to play this? Only Blomdahl...

Unmissable
Hi antonyroussel, of course Blomdahl played it like that. No risk of kiss, and a big ball right? LOL

I so agree with your statement, only Blomdahl would play that shot like that in that situation.

Torbjorn n full Blom!
What an exquisite, excruciating and exciting World Cup final! Heartbreaking for Kang, who played a beautiful game throughout, and exhilarating for the champion who showed the world how experience, knowledge and mental toughness can win a match from behind. A World Cup for the ages!

The true grit of the greatest of all time
What an exemplary example of greatness in nerve, class, determination.
Torbjorn never gave up, even when things didn't go his way. He didn't force a shot, always trying just to work the point at his best.
He came back from an abysmal 37-24, was left with only one last chance to equalize at a desperate 40-34, but the last final carom worth a long time prosecuted world championship is the signature of the greatest.
I believe anybody of us would shoot the classic, safest way, that gives you the better chance, considering the emotions. But there is a chance of kiss, and you have to generate much follow up. Torbjon can't leave the dream in the hands of a kiss. So he keeps cool and chooses the most unusual but correct shot for the situation, and executes it perfectly.
I had the honor of shaking his hand and take a selfie with him this year in Lausanne, such a nice guy too.
