Diane Wild, board member of the CEB.

LAUSANNE - The CEB (European billiards federation) has developed a new marketing concept with the objective of promoting the billiard sport and make it attractive for a world wide audience. Diane Wild, board member of the the CEB, says that the organization wants to interest sponsors and media. It is essential to make the sport more attractive and accessible to the public.

Diane Wild: ,,One goal of the new marketing concept of the CEB is focused on the promotion of our sport to the general public (non-initiated to billiards). In order to interest media and sponsors it is essential to attract spectators and thus to be known outside the world of billiards. If we remain "between us", no development is possible.

As a first step, to encourage federations to carry out actions of promotion, the CEB has launched the 'CEB AWARD.' Diane Wild: ,,It's very important that the maximum of federation takes part; success can only happen with the cooperation of all.''

The objective of the new plan:

The reward of a federation for a particular activity (ies) to carom billiards in general to promote, for example by promoting and stimulating associations in activities, the exchange between national federations and develop the exchange of experiences to inspire others .

Type of activity is optional and may be announced by each member of the CEB. The most original action has a good chance to be rewarded.

Activities are assessed between September 1, 2011 and August 30, 2012. They should focus on the general public (the uninitiated).
The target might be, young people, students, media, etc.

The CEB has a registration form sent to all federations to participate in the Awards. The assessment is done by an expert jury.

The winner of the Award will receive the sum of 3000 euros and a trophy.
