PORTO - The World championship three-cushion has been put on the calendar of the UMB today. The organization is assigned to Porto, where the European championship and a World Cup tournament were held ths year. The Dutchman Dick Jaspers will defend his world title in the Portuguese port from 5 to 9 September 2012.

The allocation to a European country is not unexpected. The organization of FC Porto, with his president Jorge Alipio, had showed his interest in the most prestigious tournament in three-cushion already a few times. The UMB returns to a European country after Cuenca in Ecuador (2007), St. Wendel in Germany (2008), Lausanne in Switzerland (2009), Sluiskil in the Netherlands (2010) and Lima in Peru (2011). The FC Porto will host the tournament in September.

The international calendar has been given a provisionally form with the allocation of the World championship. There is only one organizer for a World Cup so far: in Antalya from 13 to 19 February. The Supercup in Antwerp is on the calendar on February 4, World championship for national teams in Viersen from 1 to 4 March and the finals of the Agipi Masters from 22 to 25 March.

The European championship for Juniors is in Alcamo (Italy) next year, the European championships for seniors in Istanbul.
