It is a paradox as old as religion itself: If god is almighty, can he create a rock that is so big that he himself cannot lift it? Well even in the age of telecommunications and the internet, communicating with god is pretty hard to do. But why not ask the otherworldly people we have here on earth? One of those people is Frédéric Collignon for sure. His talent, his ambition and his skills in the sport of foosball don’t seem to be natural.

So after winning the men's singles event at the World Championships yesterday against Andreas Esterbauer, Jim Stevens confronted Collignon with the question that would settle the problems philosophers have been pondering for ages once and for all: "If you could play against yourself, how would you beat you?” The answer Frédéric Collignon gave was as simple as it was obvious: “Well, I don’t know,” the Belgian replied, “but… I would win.” He finished with a confident smile.

In the womens singles final, another otherworldly performance could be witnessed yesterday. Amalie Bremer, who already showed at last year's Bonzini WCS how impressive she can play, won the women's championship against Anais Noel of France in extremely dominant fashion. In the first two games, she hardly missed any of her snake shots and her five-bar was extraordinary. With Bonzini as her home table - a table that can be difficult to play on if you are not used to it - she is definitely one of the big favorites to also win the doubles title today with partner Camilla Lohmann.
