The Cubri/Etikon dreamteam
The Cubri/Etikon formation (Henri Tilleman, Patrick Niessen, Jean-Paul de Bruijn, Dave Christiani en Wolfgang Zenkner (Ger)) grabbed their sixth National title in a row. Thanks to YEL (European Champion) the competiton was open untill the last round, with only 1 point difference and a direct confrontation with Cubri on the schedule, it could turn out different.

But Cubri showed their great skill and overpowered their opponents in every discipline. Henri Tilleman defeated Michel van Silfhout by finishing the balklne 47/2 match with a 198 run. Patrick Niessen (Bel) had an easy balkline 71/2 match against the youngster Raymund Swertz (150-58/6) and Jean-Paul de Bruijn (the best One-Cushion player in the world) was able to counter YEL's only attack. He defeated Fabian Blondeel (Ger) in an attractive match in 9 innings.

The City TT/Blitz Optiek took the bronze medal and directed the Frédéric Caudron team (Topteam s' Lands Welvaren) to the fourth place. The Wellse Vaert with players like Rene Luijsterburg and Eddy Leppens (Bel) finished at the bottom of the ranking and should be afraid to degrade to the First Division, according to KNBB rules. If this really will happen is still a question, it might be the case that a 2011/2012 License will be availble to use; YEL has strong plans to quit.........that means that players like Raymund Swertz, Michel van Silfhout, Dick Jaspers, Fabian Blondeel end up without a team !!! According to insiders there's still a chance that this team will go on playing, in a new city and with a new name.
